The CVMBS UG Advising Office (BIMS, USVM, NRSC-TPC) wants to provide our students with quality, timely advising.  Our current advising schedule is as follows:

Office Hours: 8:30am – 11:30am & 1:30pm – 4:30pm

Lunch: OFFICE CLOSED 12:00pm – 1:00pm

We will be closed intermittently this summer due to attending NSC.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment.  Our office is located in Room 123, VIDI Building, Veterinary & Biomedical Education Complex (VBEC).  Maps and directions can be located here:

All student appointments are one-on-one, while most appointments are conducted via Zoom, there are available in-person appointments.  For any additional concerns, we can be contacted by calling 979-845-4941 for assistance.  The in-person appointments will be held in our office, located in VIDI 123 with safety measures in place. 

Please call 24 hours in advance if you need to make an appointment with Dr. Crouch or Dr. Huebner.

  • Students will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.  You will be seen based on your Navigate check-in and zoom admittance.  Please be aware that wait times may increase during peak advising. Services we can assist with at this time include Summer 2022 Schedules, Fall 2022 Schedules, Final Degree Audit, Holds, and Q-Drop WITH Advising.
  • To expedite your appointment please come prepared with all of your questions and concerns so we can answer them during your appointment. 
  • Please send any forms that you will need signed or processed to before logging onto the zoom.

  • For Virtual Appointments check into Navigate by clicking here, Check-In. Selecting First Available Advisor. Then log onto zoom. This is for Q Drop Appointments or Campaign Appointments (Thursday-Friday).
  • Must use your NetID and Password for Zoom.  It will require your email address to authenticate you for advising sessions (You may do this through your howdy portal).
  • Students! You will be emailed weekly with any updates, changes, and reminders.  Please make sure you are using this information to see our messages.
    • Did you know that with the move to Microsoft 365, you may need to make sure your filters are working properly for receipt of TAMU Emails? Information can be found here: Pay particular attention to the heading that is titled “NEW FEATURES” with subheadings “FOCUSED INBOX” and “JUNK EMAIL FILTER”.  Emails from TAMU and BIMS in particular are getting put into the “other” and “junk” boxes after the move. You can correct this using the helpful links on the webpage. (For those on Google please also check your spam folder for important information that is filtered from Microsoft 365 users to Google users).

Important Q Drop Information (To Be Completed before you log onto Zoom)**:

Please Note: For Zoom – this is for a Q DROP only, there will be NO advising during the Zoom. Steps to follow BEFORE your appointment: 

Please note:  There are Q Drop appointments available in Navigate. Steps to follow BEFORE your appointment.  If you do log on for a Q Drop with Virtual Drop-In Advising, please let us know if you are there for a Q Drop Only with no Advising or a Q Drop with Advising: 

  • Complete a Q-Drop Form here:
    • Prior to logging on to Zoom, return the completed and signed Q-Drop form to as a PDF attachment only from your email account.
    • CALL FINANCIAL AID: your course will not be dropped unless you have spoken with Financial Aid first: 979-845-3236. – NOTE: Q-dropping may adversely impact financial aid, eligibility for tuition rebate, eligibility as a dependent for insurance coverage, veteran’s benefits, athletic eligibility, scholastic probation, eligibility for extracurricular activities and some types of employment, etc.
    • Student-Athletes (including practice players, managers, and trainers) have received guidance from Athletics on drop procedures. Please follow this guide and leave extra time for signature routing.
    • International students NEED to receive prior approval from ISS (international student services) before dropping below full-time.
    • A course will NOT be dropped until your form is received and you have met with a member of our Team. This is a 2-step process.  “SUBMITTING THIS FORM DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOUR COURSE WILL BE APPROVED TO BE DROPPED.” Please remember that courses in which you are making a “C” or better should be continued and finished.  If you are making a “D” or an “F” in a course, it would be eligible to consider dropping. 
    • After all, steps are complete please join the Zoom Meeting link.
